Pink Banana Runtz

Pink Banana Runtz is an indica-dominant USA hybrid cross from the ‘Antonio, by Dutch Passion’ collection. This limited edition indica cannabis strain was created by crossing Banana Z (from TerpHogz, the original breeder of the 'Z' genetics) with Gelato #33.  Antonio's goal with this new Runtz cross was to develop Runtz genetics with larger flowers and a higher yield than traditional Runtz varieties on the market (which often have smaller buds).

This new cultivar therefore produces relatively large buds, especially the main colas, which can reach large proportions when grown under a good quality LED light.

An easy to grow, high-yielding hybrid with impressive traits

During the vegetative phase, the plants are generally compact and bushy, but once flowering begins, they undergo a good stretch phase. This allows the main buds to protrude nicely above the canopy, absorbing as much light as possible and becoming nicely thick.  

The plants are ideal for both natural and SOG cultivation. They can also thrive in a SCROG, but in this case, it is recommended to give them a bit more pre-vegetation time and completely fill the SCROG net before setting the clock to 12/12.  

In terms of bud structure, they generally have a more hybrid bud structure with dense buds that are not fluffy at all, but neither are they super compact. This makes them suitable for growing in a wide range of conditions, with slightly better resistance to higher humidity.  Very suitable for beginners.

They can even be grown in a greenhouse or outdoors, preferably in warmer/drier regions. This is a cannabis variety that truly shines in a controlled indoor grow with powerful (LED) lights and good (preferably organic) nutrients. The flowering time averages between 8-9 weeks, with an XL yield. 

Sweet, creamy terpenes and a powerful, long-lasting high

During the flowering phase, the elongated buds become literally covered in trichomes. From the 3rd to 4th week of flowering, the resin layer will increase rapidly. Towards the end of bloom, the buds are very sticky and aromatic. The refined terpene profile, with primarily sweet, fruity, and creamy notes, is a delight for anyone who loves good cannabis!  

The aroma isn't overpowering, but much more subtle than you might expect. However, true connoisseurs will detect notes of tropical fruit, apple, banana, and creamy ice cream. The five most dominant terpenes are caryophyllene, linalool, limonene, humulene, and myrcene. THC levels are always on average well above 20% and even 25% (if grown properly under the right conditions).  

This makes the high from this strain very strong and long-lasting, making her ideal for experienced users. It's a hybrid high with both physical and mental effects, slightly euphoric and uplifting, yet also deeply relaxing. In short, a delicious smoke!  

For best results, grow her at an average temperature of 68-81F (20-27º C) with an RH of between 50-65% (max. 50% in mid and late flowering). Several phenotypes can develop beautiful pink and light purple hues on the larger leaves and in the sugar leaves towards the end of flowering.
