With numerous cannabis cup awards and world-record CBD/THC content, Dutch Passion's autoflowering cannabis seeds earned an unparalleled reputation amongst the cannabis home growers community. Brace yourself for lightning fast and hassle-free harvests with the potential advantage of multiple crops per season.
Autoflower seeds deliver the same high-THC buds you know and love. Autoflower seeds are feminized, meaning you should get 95% female offspring. They grow into female autoflower plants, these have a few differences in their growth pattern compared to the more familiar feminized/regular strains. Their XL harvests, fast growth and high potency means autoflower seeds have justifiably become just as popular as feminized seeds with both indoor and outdoor growers.
Dutch Passion were one of the original autoflower pioneers alongside the Joint Doctor, helping introducing autoflower genetics to Europe. With dozens of cannabis cups for their independent autoflower breeding, Dutch Passion are one of the most experienced and trusted names for quality autoflower genetics.
Being able to harvest high THC buds, on the same quality levels as feminized strains, in just 10-11 weeks is an attractive option for any indoor grower. It’s never been as fast or easy to grow top shelf weed as it is with autoflower seeds. If you aren’t familiar with autoflower seeds here are some key benefits you are missing on!
Autoflower cannabis plants grow from seed to harvest under a fixed light-cycle using 18-20 hours of daily light. This means there is no need to switch to a 12/12 light schedule to initiate bloom! Autoflowers start to flower automatically when they are about 4-5 weeks old and are usually ready to harvest around 75 days after germination.
The best autoflower seed varieties routinely get 20-25% THC levels. Some like Auto Cinderella Jack and Auto Skywalker Haze even broke world records with over 25% THC. To top it up, our premium autoflower seeds produce flowers with over 1% total terpenes when the home grown harvests average around 0.5%-0.6% terpenes in the dry buds.
The best hydroponic growers regularly produce 10oz+ crops from high yield autoflower seeds. Optimize the conditions and you can expect branch-bending harvests. The heaviest yielding autoflowering strains such as Auto Ultimate have a proven track record of monster harvests reaching well over 2 pounds from a single plant.
Whether you are opting for an Indica, Sativa, or Hybrid strain; you can grow autoflower seedlings in the same tent alongside flowering females under the same 18/6 or 20/4 autoflower light cycle.
Perpetual indoor harvests are possible with single 3x3ft or 4x4ft indoor tent on a permanent 20/4 light cycle. Just germinate a new autoflower seed every 3 weeks and harvest a plant around the same time.
Buy the best autoflower seeds from a trusted, reputable supplier and expect results on the same quality levels as your best feminized strains. Autoflower seeds are now a mainstream choice, just as popular as feminized seeds but faster to grow. And for many they feel easier too. Autoflower strains grow indoors in around 11 weeks. Outdoors they take a couple of weeks longer. Autoflowers grow and bloom under a constant 18-20 hours of daily light, meaning you can accommodate a tent full of autos at completely different stages of growth. Many growers use these features to great advantage and grow nothing but autoflower seeds.

AK420 Autoflower
The latest high performance autoflowers are a considerable improvement over the early first-gen efforts. Quality levels are on a par with top quality feminized strains. But many argue autos are more convenient for the average home grower - fast harvests, XL yields and grows that are difficult to mess up thanks to the forgiving autoflower grow latitude.
Autoflowers are known for their tolerant, wide latitude grow ability. They will grow well in soil, or any blend of soil, coco, clay pebbles, rock wool etc. Aerated grow mediums and aerated grow containers produce excellent autoflower results. For the fastest growth, hydroponics combined with autoflowers is difficult to beat!

Aim for around 75-77F with the lights on and a few degrees cooler with lights off. During bloom aim to keep humidity low, below 45% RH if possible. This helps minimize chances of rot/mold in the heavier blooms.
Most use an 18/6 or 20/4 light schedule. Some growers use continuous light (24/0) from autoflower seed to harvest, though this approach doesn’t allow the plant any ‘dark’ period, and isn’t used by many.
Avoid overwatering and over feeding. Use of aerated grow containers such as air pots help prevent waterlogged roots. Even expert growers use soil-moisture meters to help them know when to water.
Autoflower seeds grow well in all grow mediums and with all grow methods. Their fixed life cycle (around 11 weeks indoors, couple/few weeks longer outdoors) means they prefer steady optimized conditions without distractions such as regular transplanting etc. Whether you are growing indoors, outdoors or in a greenhouse, here are some precious tips to keep in mind.
Outdoor and greenhouse growers are advised to germinate their autoflower seeds indoors, especially their first outdoor crop of the season. This allows them a couple of weeks growth under optimized conditions (20/4 light) safe from early season weather and predators. Many growers prefer the simplicity of geminating their autoflower seeds in their final grow container.
Large (e.g. 6 gal) aerated containers such as airpots or fabric sacks give great results. Lightmix soil and/or coco blends give especially good results. Those growing in hydroponics, e.g. DWC will see even more spectacular growth and yields. ‘Water only’ growing with slow-release organic nutrients (BioTabs are recommended) simplifies the grow tremendously whether growing autoflower seeds or feminized seeds.
Less experienced growers often grow their autos naturally, without any low stress training (LST) or high stress training (HST). This simplifies the grow and gives great results. More experienced growers may wish to remove the lowest branches and leaves. Occasional defoliation to allow more light penetration doesn’t do any harm. Tying down branches to allow better light penetration to lower bloom sites helps boost yields.
Quality LED grow lights are recommended for maximized THC levels and terpene content. Get to know the correct power settings and hanging heights for all stages of your cannabis plant life cycle. Supplemental UVA/UVB lights are recommended to more experienced growers for 2-3 hours per day for the last 2-3 weeks.
An indoor cannabis light schedule of 20/4 (20 hours of light per day, followed by 4 hours of darkness) from autoflower seed to harvest gives great results. 18/6 light schedules are also popular. Steadily increase nutrients and light levels as plants mature. Harvesting as trichomes start to change from milky to amber is typical.
If growing a single crop, choose 3 sunny months with the least extreme weather. The climate of many states throughout the USA offers growers with the luxury of 2 or even 3 potential successive outdoor/greenouse autoflower crops each year.
Autoflower cannabis seeds can be grown easily in a wide array of environments; from guerilla-style settings, back-yards, mixed in with your veggies/shrubs to greenhouses and poly-tunnels. Always choose your grow spot wisely, taking into consideration key factors such as light exposure, wind protection, type of soil available, water accessibility, location privacy, etc.
If growing in containers outdoors, try to keep the containers (but not the plant foliage!) out of direct sunlight. This keeps the root mass cooler, allowing better growth and less plant stress. Greenhouse cooling vents, air-extraction or white greenhouse paint are useful options for the hotter weather. Professionals use dark netting to shade the greenhouses from heatwaves.
When growing any type of cannabis plants outdoors or in a greenhouse, pests, such as greenfly can easily multiply to problematic levels, especially without the presence of natural predators (Ladybugs etc.). It is therefore vital for any serious grower to learn how to prevent, identify and control the main types of pests and diseases that can affect cannabis plants.
How are autoflower seeds produced?
In similar way to traditional cannabis seeds. However, the parent strains have been specially bred and selected to contain autoflowering genetics. All Dutch Passion autoflower seeds are feminized, meaning that the seeds give rise to female autoflowering offspring.
What is the difference between feminized photoperiod seeds and autoflower seeds?
Feminized photoperiod plants must be forced into bloom by reducing the amount of daily light. For indoor growers this means implementing a 12/12 light cycle. Autoflower seeds start to flower automatically after around 4-5 weeks, regardless of the light cycle. This means you can grow from autoflower seed to harvest with 20 hours of daily light. With such rapid levels of photosynthesis your auto is ready to harvest around 11 weeks after germination.
You can have a range of different-age autoflower plants, from seedling to mature females, all in the same tent under the same light cycle allowing perpetual harvests. Convenience, speed, XL yields and high-quality harvests have made autoflower seeds a popular and permanent choice with indoor and outdoor growers.
How to germinate cannabis autoflower seeds?
In the same way as feminized seeds or regular seeds. The damp cotton pad cannabis seed germination method is especially reliable. Germinating your seeds directly in the grow medium, in the final grow container is the other popular choice. Autoflower seeds germinate in the same amount of time as normal cannabis seeds.
Can you grow autoflowers under permanent 24-hour light?
Yes. But it’s a minority that tend to do so. Many feel that a short period of darkness (4-6 hours) is of benefit to plant biochemistry.
How long does it take autoflower seeds to germinate?
Autoflower seeds take the same amount of time to germinate as other types of cannabis seeds. They look the same too and are impossible to distinguish from regular or feminized seeds. Autoflower seeds usually germinate inside 2-3 days using the damp cotton pad method, or when germinated in the grow medium.
How fast do autoflower seeds grow?
The stretchiest / tallest autoflower seed varieties can reach around 5 feet during their 11-week grow cycle. Occasionally even taller. But most of the time autos grow to around 3-4ft. Shorter, indica-leaning autos may reach 1-2ft in height but yield heavily with a stocky main bloom and numerous side blooms.
